For most of our lines, you can buy tickets directly through our online shop. Online tickets can be booked up to 24 hours before departure.

If the tickets need to be purchased through one of our bus partners’ web shops, you’ll be redirected to the appropriate carrier’s site automatically, and their General Terms and Conditions will apply.

You can buy tickets for ALL of our lines directly at the Vienna International Bus Terminal (VIB), including lines for which online booking is not available.

Are discounts available?

Naturally, fare discounts are available on almost all lines for children, and in some cases for teenagers and seniors as well.
Conditions and age restrictions vary from carrier to carrier, so please check the timetable for your line for details.

Special rates are also displayed during the online booking process, where you can select them by changing the dropdown menu option from “Adult” to “Child”.

Also keep an eye out for our frequent promotions with special prices. Please note that these special events always involve specific conditions that are published as part of each promotion.

Please take care not to fold or crumple the part of your ticket where the barcode is printed.

Note that you can also buy tickets directly at the Vienna International Bus Terminal (VIB).

You may change your booking to a different name or a different departure date for an €10.00 fee.

It is generally not possible to make booking changes for tickets obtained at special prices during promotional events.

Can I cancel my ticket?

Can I cancel my ticket?

In general, yes. However, note that ticket costs will not be reimbursed for passengers who have missed their scheduled departure (“no-shows”).
Starting two hours before departure and after the departure date, a cancellation fee of 100% of the ticket price will be charged for no-shows.

A €8.00 fee is charged for ticket cancellations 8 days or more before the scheduled departure.
Within 1 to 7 days before departure, the cancellation fee is €10.00.

Reimbursements can be requested via email at info@vib-wien.at or directly at the VIB ticket counter.
Most tickets obtained during promotional events for a reduced price or subject to specific booking conditions cannot be reimbursed or re-booked.

If unforeseeable circumstances such as war, civil unrest, epidemic or government instructions make it difficult or impossible for the carrier to provide the scheduled transportation, the carrier may cancel the trip and must reimburse the paid ticket price to the passenger in full. The carrier cannot accept any additional claims by the passenger.

For cross-border trips, the passenger’s name is required to appear on the ticket, so the ticket cannot simply be transferred to a different person.
However, you can transfer your booked ticket to another person BEFORE the trip begins by paying an €8.00 processing fee.
Note that our partners’ GTC and guidelines apply when purchasing tickets through their online shops.
Name changes can only be made in the office that issued the ticket.
There is one exception: For tickets purchased online (as well as round trips), the name change can be requested exclusively via email to: info@vib-wien.at.
